A full year competition designed to encourage members to play more golf, this is a year-long series of events, beginning the week after the Annual Banquest and ending the Tuesday prior to the following year's banquet.
There are two divisions—2-Person Teams and Individual ALL-IN. ALL-IN means for any ASGA event you play in this season, you earn Points that count towards becoming champion. As a 2-Person Team, you earn Points in any 2-Person event. A few events even earn DOUBLE points.
PRIZES
| Place | Individual ALL-IN | 2-Person Teams* |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | $125 | $100 |
| 2nd | $75 | $50 |
| 3rd | $50 | |
| 4th | $25 |
Prize monies will be awarded at the Fall Banquet. First Place finishers will also have their names added to the Champions List on our website.
Details on the Points system are outlined in the Program Description section. In the Standings section you can find out where you (or your team) stand as we go through the season—as well as how many Points you earned for each event. There are no minimum number of events required, but the nature of the earned points make it more difficult if you fail to play about 60% of the events in each category.
INDIVIDUAL ALL-IN
Win your flight in an individual event, you earn 100 Points, for a 2-person event you earn 50 Points, and 25 Points for any 4-Person event. From there it’s a sliding scale, with all players earning Points.
Your best 30 events played will be used to produce your total. When you play more than 30 events, the system will pick your 30 highest scores to calculate your year-to-date point total. The more you play, the greater opportunity you will have to keep improving your total score, but missing a few events won't take you out of the running.
Note: The number of events was 30 for the 2024-2025 season. This is subject to change depending on the actual number of individual events for a given season.
2-PERSON TEAMS
Win your flight in any 2-Person event, your team earns 100 Points.
Same sliding scale for lower finishes—every Team earns Points.
For the 2024-2025 season a team's best 11 events were used to produce a
2-Person Team total. This number may change year to year to adjust for fewer/more events for a given season. If a 2-Person Team plays more than the 11 events for example, the system will pick the 11 highest scores to calculate a year-to-date point total. The more you play, the greater opportunity you will have to keep improving your total score, but missing a few events won't take you out of the running.
SUMMARY
So there it is in a nutshell—the more you play and the better you play greatly increases the chances to win a prize (and of course bragging rights!) You don’t have to play every week to remain competitive. However, you need to play about 60% of the events in each category to have the opportunity to replace the scores of those events where you may not have scored as well as you wanted with a better score. You will see the standing each week on the ASGA website and the system will keep your score up to date with each event played.
With the chance, after an entire season, there are ties in any ranking of the two contests the ties will result in sharing the prize money and the results. In other words if two individuals tie for second, then the 2nd and 3rd place money will be shared and both will be listed as 2nd and the next one down will be 4th. Even in the event of a tie for first, both individuals or two person teams will be listed as co-champs on the plaque and share the 1st and 2nd prize money. The fact is a lot of members have a chance to win or at least stay competitive in the Grand Prix. Play and have fun.
