Notes On ASGA Handicapping

ASGA handicaps are calculated and maintained by the ASGA Handicap Chairman based on scores from ASGA events only. Scores are used from Individual Net, 2-Person Best Ball and 2-Person Total Net events. Handicaps are normally updated and posted after each event.

The ASGA handicap process generally conforms to the method used by the United States Golf Association (USGA) until January 1, 2020. A major difference is that the USGA process required five scores before a handicap can be calculated. An ASGA offical handicap index will be calculated after three counting scores are recorded; for less than three counting scores the handicap index will be the lower of the member provided index or any counted score.
